Best Studio Monitors – Behringer MS40 Review

Available on Amazon at 50% off here

behringer ms40I’m not sure if I should consider the Behringer MS40 one of the best studio monitors out there, but I thought I could include them here if you are on a tight budget.

These feature individual volume controls for both line inputs plus bass and treble eq controls.
These compact, super-affordable 2 x 20-watt near field monitors feature ultra-high resolution 24-bit/192 khz d/a converters, which let you connect digital sources directly in order to eliminate analog line-loss and hum.

These are solid and very well made speakers, the amp is flawless. The bass sounds pretty tight at low volumes and there is enough impact.

The Behringer MS40 are also great to listen to music, watch videos and play games on your pc. Of course you are not going to hear thumping low bass from ANY 5-inch woofer, but the MS40s are capable of decent low end.

Here are some great features of the Behringer MS40 :

Their performance and durability is flawless.  As you unpack them, you will immediately be impressed by the quality of the construction and after you hook them up you will be blown-away by the sound.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Behringer MS40:

I listen to quite a bit of music and enjoy various styles. It really doesn’t matter what the genre because the end result is always excellent. Seriously well balanced speakers. I have had plenty of speakers in my day, but these are the best combination of size and sound. These speakers are SWEET for the Price!!! (Jess S.)

Best Studio Monitors – KRK Rokit 5 Review

krk rokit 5The new look of the KRK Rokit 5 generation 2, makes it sound better, and in a wider “sweet spot.” I have these beauties myself and I couldn’t leave them out as in my opinion they are the best studio monitors. The superior design of the G2 includes front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence.

Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This creates a “narrow” or boxy” sound. To eliminate this issue, we designed a radically engineered curved surfaces. Simply put, you’ll get better sound in a wider area.

If you want compact monitors with a big, natural sound, these do the job.
The main character of KRK is warmth and dynamics.

Here are some great features of the KRK Rokit 5:

The sound quality is really very good, especially when you consider the cost. These speakers are very flat and accurate. No more mixing, burning to a disc, running to the car to listen and see if it sounded okay.  If it sounds good on these, then it almost always sounds good on any audio system.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the KRK Rokit 5:

There is nothing better than these in the monitor category at this price point, period. They are designed for one thing: to provide an accurate, unbiased, uncolored representation of your mix, when listening up close. They do that phenomenally. Don’t tell KRK but I would have been satisfied with these had I paid twice as much. (Anthony)

m-audio bx5a

The m-audio bx5a, definitely one of the  best studio monitors is a 70-watt bi-amped power and expertly tuned crossovers round out a first rate pair of reference monitors with a footprint small enough to fit just about anywhere. The 5-inch low-frequency driver cones are crafted from Kevlar, an extremely resilient material. Kevlar’s high mechanical and thermal resilience makes it ideal for use in speaker cones.

The high-frequency domes are made from natural silk to counter the high Q ringing that’s inherent in the poorly crafted metallic materials commonly found in other monitors.

The quality of sound that these speakers produce gives you goosebumps. There is virtually no hiss in between tracks even at high volumes. As soon as you listen to them you will understand why they have been for all this time the best studio monitors for the price.

Everything sounds so accurate, and nearly perfect and the bass is pretty darn awesome. For the price, these speakers are unbeatable.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the M-audio Bx5a:

The M-Audio bx5a studio monitors are very heavy duty and solidly built as well as powerful. The kevlar cones are awesome and you won’t worry about blowing them out like paper cones do!
You won’t hear any frequency loss or lack of presence. These 5a’s will handle anything you throw at them. (Matt J.)
